3 Days Kidepo Valley Uganda Safari

This 3 days Uganda safari takes you to Kidepo valley national park voted by CNN as one of the beautiful African safari parks for wildlife viewing and nature photography. Kidepo valley is most famous for cheetahs and the biggest single herd of more than 10,000 buffaloes.

The park is home to 77 mammals, more than 500 species of birds and the indigenous Karamajong and Ik people. Most of the wildlife such as cheetahs, Aard wolf, African hunting dog, Karamoja Apalis, and ostrich are not found in other parks of Uganda.
On this safari you will have the balance of game viewing and the chance to gain an understanding of traditional Karamajong people who’re only found in north eastern Uganda.
Kidepo is located in northeastern Uganda Karamojong region. The journey from Kampala is about 571 km which can take 13 hours drive by road. With a fly in charter flight, it takes 2hours from Entebbe airport.

    Day 1: Fly to Apoka airstrip
    In the morning you gather at either Entebbe airport or Kajjansi airstrip, board the charter plane and fly to Kidepo. You land at Apoka airstrip where you are driven to your lodge on time for lunch. Later in the afternoon, you take a game drive through the Narus valley in the search of cheetah, elephants, buffaloes, lions, Uganda kobs and other wildlife. Return from the game drive and enjoy dinner and overnight. Accommodation: Apoka safari lodge (luxury)/ Apoka rest camp (budget).

    Day 2: Game drive and cultural walk
    Start early morning on a second game drive, the sunrise is beautiful if the sky is clear. Mammals such as lions, elephants, cheetahs, lesser kudu, large herds of buffaloes, Uganda kob can be spotted. Returns for lunch at the lodge and in the afternoon go for a guided cultural walk to meet the karamajong cattle warriors and Ik people with unique ways of living such as Manyatta housing. Return for dinner and overnight.

    Day 3: Fly back to Kampala
    After breakfast, you will transfer to Apoka airstrip and fly back to Entebbe. You visit Entebbe zoo if you do not have a departure flight or transfer to the place of your choice.
