Day 1: Meet Our Guide in Kigali Cross to Uganda, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

In the morning, our safari guide will meet at either the hotel or Kigali Airport for briefing and depart to cross to Uganda.  As you leave the bustling city behind, the landscape changes to scenic rolling hills.

En route, you will get a glimpse of the beautiful Rwandan countryside and the terraced hillsides that the country is renowned for. You will stop at the Uganda-Rwanda border for clearance procedures. Ensure all your visa and documentation needs are in order.

You will arrive in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest area by late afternoon. This UNESCO World Heritage site is a primeval forest, renowned for its biodiversity and dense network of misty valleys and ridges.

You will settle in at your chosen accommodation, ranging from budget-friendly lodges to luxury resorts. In the evening, take a nature walk or community visit to familiarize yourself with the surroundings and immerse yourself in the local culture.

When the sun sets, you will enjoy a hearty dinner at your lodge and relax by the campfire. You can share stories with other travelers and prepare for the next day’s adventure.

Later in the night, you will get to bed for a good night’s sleep, as the next day starts early and promises to be packed with adventure.

Day 2: Bwindi Uganda Gorilla Tracking Adventure- Travel back to Kigali

You will wake up early, typically around 6:30 a.m. After a quick breakfast, you will head to the park’s headquarters for a briefing on safety and gorilla tracking etiquette.

You will then embark on the tracking expedition, led by experienced guides and trackers. The trek’s duration varies, ranging from 2 to 7 hours, depending on the gorilla family’s location.

You will traverse the thick forest, which is also home to various birds, primates, and butterflies. The experience culminates in an hour-long encounter with the gorillas, observing their social behaviors and perhaps even witnessing playful juveniles or nurturing mothers.

After the gorilla encounter, you will trek back to the starting point and receive a certificate for successfully tracking the gorillas.

You will enjoy a late lunch at your accommodation and start the journey back to Kigali.

Depending on the time, you might choose to explore nearby attractions or take part in additional activities like bird watching or cultural visits.

In the evening, you will arrive back in Kigali, marking the end of your two-day adventure.
