wildlife national parks, getting up-close with mountain gorillas and chimpanzees, and tracking rhinos. This trip is packed with activities but also allows you to relax.

The 10-day trip starts when you arrive at Entebbe airport then transfer to Kampala city before you venture into the wilderness of north and southwestern Uganda.

Itinerary

Day 1: Entebbe Airport Pick-up & Transfer to Kampala City

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, You will exchange pleasantries with our guide and drive straight to Kampala to check in at your hotel.

Day 2: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park

Early morning, our guide/driver will pick you up after breakfast at your hotel in Kampala to transfer to Murchison Falls National Park.

There will be a stopover in Nyakitoma at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an en-route lunch and a guided rhino tracking on foot with a ranger.

You will continue to the park and do a hike to the top of Murchison waterfall. Finally, you will be led to your lodge for dinner and a night’s rest.

Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park Game Drive and Boat Cruise

After a cup of coffee and snacks early morning, you will embark on a guided game drive through Murchison Falls National Park.

There are exciting animal encounters such as herds of Uganda kobs grazing near the tracks, elephants, lions, buffalo, zebra, Rothschild’s giraffe, topis, and eland. The game drive normally takes 4 hours while searching and encountering the aforementioned animals.

You will then be led back to your lodge for lunch and relax for a little while. In the late afternoon, you will head to the Paraa dock to enjoy a boat ride on the Nile watching wildlife species such as birds, Nile crocodiles, hippos, elephants, and buffaloes, and admire beautiful scenery.

In the evening, cultural dancers may be invited to perform around the campfire, dinner, and overnight at your lodge.

Day 4: Travel From Murchison Falls N.P to Kibale Forest National Park

After a hearty breakfast, you will check out of your lodge and travel to the Kibale Forest area. you will make a stopover in Hoima town for lunch and then proceed with your journey till you reach Fort Portal.

You will take a mild city tour around Fort Portal and also get to Ndali-Kasenda Crater lakes for sightseeing. You will finally head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Kibale Chimpanzee Tracking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Breakfast will be served early at 06:45 and you will go to the Kanyanchu visitor center, and meet your park ranger for a briefing.

You will then be guided into the forest, and track chimpanzees for 1 hour. The chimpanzees are such intelligent animals, that you will truly enjoy their social interaction.

You will also have an opportunity to see other primate species such as black and white colobus monkeys, red colobus monkeys, and lots of birds.

After the tracking experience, you will return to your lodge for lunch and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. you will arrive at your lodge early evening relax and settle at your lodge for the African sunset.

Day 6:  Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise

Early morning, you will have coffee and snacks and drive to the game drive tracks to search for the common mammals around the Kasenyi savannah plains under the guidance of a park ranger.

The likely animals to see on this exciting wildlife viewing experience are lions, elephants, kobs, oribis, giraffes, buffaloes, and many more.

After about 4 hours of looking for animals in the wild, you will return to your lodge for breakfast, relaxation, and lunch. In the afternoon, you will go for a boat ride on the Kazinga Channel which starts around 2:00 p.m.

The boat ride will reward you with views of hippos, crocodiles, bird species,and buffaloes, and elephants at the banks.

At the completion of a launch cruise, you will be led back to your lodge for supper and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Game Drive via Ishasha Wilderness and transfer to Bwindi

After a sumptuous breakfast,  you will drive to the south of the park for exit. But as you will be leading out of the park, you will make a stopover at Ishasha sector to chance yourself seeing the tree-climbing lions.

These lions are normally found lying atop the fig trees after a long hunt. you will observe them and take photos and then exit Queen Elizabeth National Park to head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

On your way, you will have lunch in Kihihi town and then proceed till you reach the Bwindi area in the early evening to check in at your lodge, have dinner, and rest for the night.

Day 8: Gorilla trekking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

You will have to be at the park headquarters by 7:30 a.m. for briefing and gorilla permit verification. Then you will proceed to the starting point in a group of 8 trackers under the guidance of the park ranger.

You will get into the impenetrable forest of Bwindi to search for the only mountain gorillas left in the wild. the search will take about 1-5 hours depending on the locality of the gorilla group will be tracking.

When you reach the gorillas, you will be surprised and frightened by the gigantic size of the silverback but the good news is, it is such a peaceful and welcoming animal if unprovoked.

The Silverback is the alpha male and at first, it will be protective of its family but at last, it will give in to let you enjoy and observe of how they go about their business in the wild.

You will take pictures and footage of these endangered species and at an hour mark, you will leave their premises and find your driver guide to take you back to your lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will check out of your lodge and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation.

Day 9: Boat cruise and transfer to Lake Mburo

You will wake up to the great sights of the beautiful 29 islands of Lake Bunyonyi for breakfast and then proceed to take a boat cruise to Punishment Island and its tormenting history. You will also visit Governor’s Island where you might see zebra, visit the old church, and climb up to the Batwa community.

You will return early for lunch and transfer to Lake Mburo via Mbarara for en-route lunch at Igongo Cultural Center. You will reach Lake Mburo National with sightings of impala on your way to the lodge.

Dinner and Overnight: Rwakobo Rock Lodge/Mburo Eagle’s Nest

Day 10: Nature Walk and Transfer to Kampala

After breakfast, you will take a 3-hour guided nature walk on foot with a ranger. Viewing wildlife on foot is an amazing experience to get close views of herds of impalas, zebra, topi, eland, buffalo, and giraffes.

You will also spot a variety of bird species like crested guinea fowls, woodpeckers, and many more. You will get back to your lodge for lunch and after transfer back to Kampala.

On the way, you’ll stop at the Equator monument for photos and continue to Kampala. Drop off at your lodge or do some shopping before transfer to Entebbe airport.
