Enjoy this safari combining two East African Destinations; Uganda and Tanzania, visit the big five mammals and the unique primates, gorillas and chimpanzees. 

In Uganda, you will visit Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for gorilla tracking, chimpanzee trekking, and game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Then fly to Tanzania Serengeti National Park for classic game viewing. In Serengeti at the right time, July to October and November you can expect to see the wildebeest migration, the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth featuring the movement of over 1.5 million wildebeest along with zebra, Thompsons’s gazelles.

This migration involves wildlife action as predators follow the animals for prey. Plus, the crossing of the crocodile-infested Grumeti River offers a great opportunity for photography.

Itinerary

Day 1: Entebbe Airport Arrival- Welcome to Uganda

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, our Oree safari guide will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. Relax the rest of the day dinner and overnight: 2 Friends Guest House/Pretoria Hotel

Day 2: Flight From Entebbe to Bwindi Forest

You will take a flight from Entebbe to Kihihi airstrip in Kanungu district about 30 km from Buhoma. You will be transferred by road about 1- a one-hour drive to your overnight lodge perched right on the edge of Bwindi’s Impenetrable forest.

This is a UNESCO world heritage site home to half of the world’s mountain gorillas. There are about 17 gorilla families habituated for tracking which gives you a guarantee to see gorillas in the wild.

Day 3: Bwindi Uganda Gorilla trekking

This will be the big day for gorilla tracking. After breakfast, you will prepare yourself for gorilla tracking, carry a packed lunch, wear appropriately for the jungle, and head to the gorilla center for a briefing on gorilla rules. These are meant to protect gorillas from tourist disturbance.

Thereafter, you will be led into the forest by guides and escorted by armed rangers. The search for gorillas will begin and take 30 min to more than 5 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas.

Once gorillas are found, you will be allowed to spend 1-hour taking photos and observing the family of gorillas in their natural habitat. you will trek back to the lodge and relax for the rest of the day.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will transfer by road to Queen Elizabeth National Park. you will take a game drive en route via Ishasha famous for tree-climbing lions. Dinner and overnight stay: Mweya Safari Lodge/ Twins Lake Safari Lodge/Parkview Lodge/Enjojo Lodge/Ishasha Jungle Lodge

Day 5:  Game drive and boat safari Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will wake up early before sunrise and head to the wild for an early morning game drive. Queen Elizabeth NP is home to big 4 African mammals and over 600 bird species. During the game drive, you will expect to see buffalos, elephants, Uganda kob and lions, leopards, and hyenas.

You will return to your lodge for lunch and relax a little bit. In the afternoon, you will take a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel.

During the 3-hour cruise, you will have an opportunity to view wildlife such as water birds, elephants, and buffaloes that come to quench their thirst on the shores.

On your way back to your lodge, you will look at some wild animals (have an en-route mini-game drive) till you reach. Dinner and Overnight: Mweya Safari Lodge/ Twins Lake Safari Lodge/Parkview Lodge/Enjojo Lodge/Ishasha Jungle Lodge 

Day 6: Kyambura Gorge Chimp trekking Queen Elizabeth National Park

Chimpanzee

After breakfast, you will go to the forest part of Queen Elizabeth National Park where Kyambura Gorge is located, a place for chimpanzees and other primates.

Here, you will do a trek through this forested valley looking for the chimpanzees.

On finding the chimpanzees, you will spend one hour taking their pictures, and videos and studying their social antics.

Thereafter, you will access Mweya Airstrip to fly to Entebbe airport or transfer by road arriving in Entebbe town overnight in preparation for the second leg of your safari to Tanzania.

Day 7: Transfer to Entebbe, flight to Arusha, Tanzania

Based on the time scheduled for your flight, you will drive to Entebbe Uganda, and take a charter plane to Kilimanjaro Airport.

On arrival, our guide will pick you up and transfer to Lake Manyara National Park. This park is famous for its tree-climbing lions but is also rich in wildlife including elephants, buffalo, zebras, giraffes, and leopards, and over 300 species of birds.

Dinner and overnight stay: Manyara Tree Lodge/ Manyara Serena camp or Manyara wilderness camp

Day 8: Lake Manyara to Serengeti

After breakfast, you will head out of Manyara while doing a game drive transfer to Serengeti National Park. On your way, you will drive passed the Ngorongoro highlands with a breathtaking of the world’s largest crater.

There will also be a  possibility to drive the eastern part of Serengeti and visit Olduvai Gorge an archeological site where fossils of earth’s earliest humans were discovered. Animals such as elephants, giraffes, and zebras will be spotted en route to your lodge in Seronera Valley Central Serengeti.

Known as the land of endless plains, Serengeti National Park is a UNESCO world heritage site. Covering 18,000 sq km of savannah rolling plains, Serengeti is Tanzania’s premier wildlife safari park home to 2 million mammals. The highlight here is the migration of wildebeest and spot of the big five African mammals.

Day 9 to 11: Wildebeest Migration – Serengeti National Park

WildBeest Migration

You will be based in central Serengeti. During the right season (July to March), Serengeti affords you the opportunity to view the wildebeest migration.

This is the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth featuring the movement of over 1.5 million wildebeest along with zebra, Thompsons’s gazelles. It’s such an amazing experience as you see these mammals with the action of predators looking for prey.

The great migration of wildebeests experience will take most of your day time, you will return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight. Note: Lunch will have to be packed before leaving the lodge in the morning.

Day 12: End of Safari & Departure

This morning, your safari will end when you transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your return flight home.
